NICHELLE WHITNEY 

Nichelle Whitney

Nichelle is the founder of The Guarden LLC, a place where things can grow. In The Guarden, Nichelle offers tailored diversity education experiences for institutions, agencies, and organizations of all sizes. Additionally, Nichelle serves as a faculty champion for Black Women & Tech –a student alliance group within the Center of Excellence for Women & Tech at Indiana University Bloomington. She serves as the Senior Assistant Director for Diversity Recruitment and Outreach for Indiana University, and also manages Girls Coding Week for Monroe County. 

 

In her spare time, you can find Nichelle serving as a Women’s Commissioner for Monroe County where she coordinates efforts to advance the quality of life for women-identifying citizens; addresses policy and legislature as it impacts women-identifying citizens; and works with local and national organizations to conduct research on the lived experiences of underrepresented people in the county. She spends additional time serving with the Inclusion, Access, and Success Committee for the state of Indiana, and also serves as a Board Fellow for the Community Foundation of Bloomington & Monroe County
